AIRPLAY ISN'T EXPOSURE. IT'S REVENUE.

Three decades in German radio. 340+ artists championed in the last six alone. From Michael Jackson to Travis Scott – every genre, one standard.

Every big act started small. If you’re serious about your music, you’re in the right place.

GERMAN AIRPLAY PAYS. LITERALLY.

Germany is one of the largest music markets in the world – and one of the best-paying radio territories on earth. Every single spin generates royalties for writers, publishers, performers and labels.

Don’t take my word for it. Germany’s collection society GEMA publishes public royalty calculators – run your own numbers and see what a real radio campaign is worth. Then multiply by scale: a single release, done right, can mean thousands of spins across dozens of stations.

For international artists and labels, German radio isn’t just promotion. It’s a revenue stream – month after month, year after year.

Thirty years. Hundreds of artists. Gold and Platin records, number ones on airplay and sales charts, more top-ten hits than wall space – and the kind of trust with stations and artists that no budget can buy.

Ask any music director in German radio – from the biggest stations to the smallest.

MAJOR LABEL DNA. INDEPENDENT SPEED.

  • Two decades at Epic Records, Sony BMG & Sony Music – Acting Head of International Audience Management
  • Independent for six years – by choice.

— Danny O’Donoghue, The Script

One campaign. Three months. Germany.

An international catalog title. No sync placement, no film boost, no algorithmic trigger. A small airplay moment in NRW, an organic Instagram wave – and the right campaign to turn both into something real.

Halfway through the campaign – before the final numbers were in:

„That momentum sounds very promising – thank you for the great support.“
— Product Manager, One Seven Music (Copenhagen)

54 stations · 21,448 spins · €99,355 GEMA

The track had never been on German radio before.

THE MAN BEHIND SPIZZBERGEN

I never chose between the stage and the business. I did both.

Felix Homeier – rhythm guitarist and co-founding member of Eisbrecher. From the smallest club stages in Germany to the largest open-air festivals across the DACH region, playing festivals alongside Clawfinger, Rose Tattoo and In Extremo. I understand what a professional touring life actually demands from an artist – because I lived it.

I know the show. And I know the business.

Two decades across Epic Records, Sony BMG, Sony Music and Universal – from Southern Germany promoter to acting head of International Audience Management for Columbia Frontline. Campaigns for AC/DC, Foo Fighters, P!nk, Shakira, David Bowie. Radio remixes for Depeche Mode, Foo Fighters, Olli Murs. For many years the key contact for Sony Music’s international artists at the Deutscher Radiopreis – responsible for broadcaster rights and partnerships. Based at Munich’s Weltraumstudio since 1995.

Spizzbergen is a young name. The experience behind it is not.

WHAT I DO

Strategy and consulting live at Spizzbergen. When campaigns go live, my team at 42ITA executes – radio, press, TV, streaming and digital, modular or full-service, from Germany to Europe.

Spizzbergen works two ways: established artists and labels who want their next release run by hands that have done this hundreds of times – and ambitious acts ready for their next step. Either way: strategy, substance, results.

One contract, one invoice – always through Spizzbergen. When campaigns go live, my 42ITA team executes under that same roof.

FOR ESTABLISHED ACTS

1 — Project Lead & Product Management
Put your release in experienced hands: I run the entire project – like a major-label product manager, just independent. Timeline, assets, partners, budget oversight, every department at one table.

2 — Release & Label Strategy
Are the songs ready? Is the timing right? Release roadmap, repertoire assessment and preparation for label conversations – from someone who spent 20+ years on the other side of the table.

3 — Media Strategy: Radio, TV, Press & Online
What’s realistic for your release – across every channel? Radio, TV, print and online: which single, which version, which timing.

FOR DEVELOPING ARTISTS

1 — Artist & Career Development
Positioning, story, career roadmap. An honest analysis of where you stand – and a clear call on what comes next.

2 — Release & Label Strategy
Same as for established acts – industry reality, no legal advice.

3 — Media Strategy: Radio, TV, Press & Online
Same scope, same European reach.

Thirty years across radio, TV, press and live – I know how the German market works across every channel. The audit draws on all of it.

The Artist Audit

I take your project apart and look at the whole German market: radio, live, brand partnerships, fan community, artist collaborations.

Here’s how it works: we start with a 30-minute call. I listen. Then I listen to your music – properly, not as background. Afterwards you receive a written assessment: where you stand, which doors could open for you in Germany, and in what order to approach them.

Where German data exists, I read it differently than your dashboard does. Where it doesn’t – we make the market come to you.

Not every artist is ready for German radio. But every serious artist has a path into the German market. The audit finds yours.

If you’re not ready for one door, I’ll tell you which one to open first.

The audit fee is credited toward your first campaign with 42ITA – should we decide to work together.

NO GAMES. NO PROMISES.

  • No ongoing full-service press work – that’s what 42ITA is for
  • No guarantees for airplay, placements, label deals or charts – anyone promising those is lying
  • No legal, tax or contract advice – I’ll point you to the right professionals
  • No tour promotion, no concert staging
  • No „quick promo“ without strategic groundwork

I don’t promote tours or stage concerts. But if I believe in an artist, I open doors. Artist-to-promoter introductions are part of what I do – on a case-by-case basis.

QUESTIONS? ANSWERED.

How do we start?
Send a few lines about your project to contact@spizzbergen.com. We’ll set up a call, I’ll assess the scope – and you’ll get a clear quote before anything starts.

What does it cost?
Every project is different, so there’s no price list – there’s a conversation. After our first call you’ll receive a transparent estimate. No surprises, no hidden fees.

Who runs the campaigns – Spizzbergen or 42ITA?
Strategy and consulting live at Spizzbergen. When campaigns go live, my team at 42ITA executes. For you it stays simple: one contact, one contract, one invoice – always through Spizzbergen.

Do you work internationally?
Yes – remotely with artists and labels worldwide, in English or German. And when a campaign needs to travel beyond Germany, I plan and run European PR from Munich.

READY TO BE CHAMPIONIZED.

Campaign results, case studies, and references exist – and they’re good. You’ll find out in conversation, not on this website. Thirty years of campaigns. Reach out – and let’s have that conversation.

One email is all it takes. contact@spizzbergen.com
